Lebanon Still in Limbo

This report sounds like Aoun has cut a deal. This report, however, plays the story a different way entirely. Lebanon appears to be waiting for King ‘Abdullah's visit to Syria. Odd when putting your electoral results into effect seems to depend on the visit of another country's absolute monarch to a third country's hereditary dictator, but hard to describe it any other way. Hariri is still waiting for the Prime Ministership. When were those elections again? Oh, yes, early June.

And yet, oddly enough, Lebanon ultimately has more democracy than most of its neighbors. It's just very. very. slow. democracy. with. asterisks.
